Dudley (37) Selden Emmet was the youngest of the ten children born to Anna Riker (Tom) and Thomas (6) Addis Emmet Jr. He was named after his father's law partner and friend, Dudley Selden. Probably born in New York City, he died on July 1st, 1866 in Catskill, New York, as noted by the NY Evening Post without details. He was the only one of the ten children still alive when their father died in 1863 - all the others having either died as a result of the Civil War or of a disease such as consumption. It is not known what caused Dudley's death at the age of 22.
