Edward (54) Graves Emmet was the third son born to Catharine Elizabeth James and Robert (13) Emmet, who was himself the second son of TAE's eldest son, Robert (2). Edward was born on 13 Oct. 1853 at 14 West 12th Street in New York City; his father moved out to New Rochelle, NY in Westchester County after his mother died in 1858 when Edward was only 4 years old. The child was named after the husband of his father's aunt, Mary Anne (10) Emmet (TAE's youngest) who had married Edward Boonen Graves in 1832.
Edward's school record remains a mystery; all that is known is that he went to California and married before he was 24 years old. The bride's name was Maria Malo and there is an article (in the "San Francisco Mornng Call") on Sept. 10, 1877 about their wedding on Sept. 6th in San Francisco. A child, Robert (107), was born nine months later. No death record for either parent hes yet appeared.
